LostJohnnies.com is committed to keeping your information safe and secure. Passwords are never stored as plain-text.

We treat your data as we would expect ours to be treated by a third party, we keep only that information that allows us to provide you with a personalised experience (for LJ.com members this includes customised RSS feeds and roving stylesheet preferences, for non-members this includes local, cookie-based stylesheet preference storage - we do not store this data if you are a non-member!).

We do not track IP addresses or host names but we do monitor non-identifiable page counts. This does inflate our total hits but we have systems in place to massage the figures to give realistic output so we're choosing your privacy over our ability to monitor our site usage. It's a price we are more than happy to pay.

The only time personally identifiable data may be recorded is if we detect an unauthorised party trying to access a restricted area of the website. This is for our protection. If we believe an attack or an attempt to utilise a vulnerability has taken place, the data stored will be used within the realms of the Data Protection Act to prosecute that agent to the full extent of the law. This personal information is only recorded when a non-authorised party accesses a restricted resource - only malicious users will ever have their information stored, you will not be able to accidentally get your information recorded!
